It is my understanding that during weekend events, "field paint" is the only authorized paint. I was wondering why?

I understand the need for only 2 paint colors during play. This makes sense to help ease officiating; but why not release what 2 colors are authorized and let individuals make their choices? :eek4wd:

ive never heard of the "only 2 colors" rule cause ive been shot with about 5 different colors in a game, and during regular rec weekends its field paint only in rentals, if you have your own equipment you can use your own paint. For "events" most to all will be event paint only

I was talking about 24 hour scenario games.

yeah those are always event paint only generally cause they are sponsered by a particular brand and have to use it

So for the event we cant bring your own paint? you have to buy it at PBC? and another question will there be vendors?(that problly seems like a stupid question for those who have played a 24hour before. but i havent)

as far at the two color paint goes ive never heard of it. we usually use 1 color and two qualities of paint that are kept a secret so as not to have people bringing in paint they bought elsewhere thats similar to the event paint on sale. PBC doesnt make a huge deal of money for the scenarios. believe it of not they have to pay all the refs, a paint vendor(who is the guy that sets the prices and usually keeps most if not all the profits) and they also pay Ben from MPP games for coming up w/ the elaborate stories and putting them all together.

ben torselles(sp.) from mpp is in charge of all of the mpp stories but throughout the year there are also usually Dr. Reteeks masterminded scenarios as well ( aka skeeter or Tim Dake or owner)

so with this one we are pretty much clueless

And normally paint is cheaper, I mean its already cheap at PBC neway on weekends, but its like even cheaper at most events. And most events has sponsors, so they are required to use it.

You can read an article based on one of MPP's games at PBC to get an understanding how it's run.

A scene would be a typical mission in the plot of the story. For example: Side A needs to go to the mounds field to recover some ammunition that was dropped. Side B needs to go to the mounds field and keep Side A from retrieving the ammunition.

Nice Article. Gives some insight.
The Battle of Tarawa in 1943 was an anphibious assault landing on a small island (approx. 3 miles long & 1/2 mile wide) to secure an airstrip as a spearhead point for the Pacific Campaign. It was one of the worst battles in US Marine history with nearly 3000 casualties. The Japanese suffered nearly 4500 casualties with only 12 survivors over the 3 day battle. (Showed their commitment to "fighting to the last man")

This should be interesting, as we watch this unfold at PBC.
