From what I've been told, all i need to maximize my accuracy, distance, and co2 air saving is a really nice new barrel, lowpressure kit, expansion chamber, and a remote line. Will they all work together? Is there anything else i need or don't need? What are the best brands and models of all of these things?
Thanks

First you should put a 14" dye ultralite barrel on it. Then I recomend switching to nitrogen instead of CO2. A remote is just silly you don't need that at all. I do recomend a low pressure kit and maybe if you want to shoot a lot of people put an RT kit on it too. Best of luck.

OK Dugan I love you and all, but you don't really need N2 on any Tippmann, they wre built to take CO2 and buying an N2 tank, is a big step you don't need. The Ultralite yes of course...and the low pressure kit...don't care either way, and the remote all personal preference and I say no to it...just my 2 cents...

doesn't a remote line do the same thing as an expansion chamber, let liquid turn into gas before it reaches gun? Will co2 work with a low pressure system?

Yes a remote will, but not as well, it kind of does it by accident, but it works....as with the low pressure system with CO2 im not quite sure about...

I don't have a clue about a new bolt for the 98 but all the other ones I've seen on Tippmanns did exactly nothing. I seriously doubt you will notice ANY difference with a new bolt.
As for the barrel, the Ultralight is a great pipe, but there's plenty of others out there that will work just as well and probably save you some cash if you're worried about that. J&J makes barrel kits that are the price of a single Ultralight and I guarantee that they are just as accurate. I've used them in major tournaments and recball and I've not found anything more accurate. The same goes for DYE barrels too. I'm just saying, look around. Anything by DYE, CP, J&J, Evil, Empire, or the Lucky 15's by Warped Sportz will be a good barrel. There are others I'm sure but these are the ones I've seen and shot. Anything with a lot of porting will have a small loss of effeciency but you've got a 98 on CO2 so it's not that big of a deal really.

What do you think the most accurate barrel is? Will a new bolt make it really quiet?Am i better off buying a new gun (i prefer non-electric) or can i make my 98 just as accurate as any other gun.
~thnx

No gun is more accurate then any other gun...it is the barrel, and the paint to barrel match, every gun is just pushing a ball with air, some just do it more fancy and faster then other...a new gun that is entirely up to you...but with a good barrel and a good paint to go with it, you can make it just as accurate as any other gun on the planet....

A bolt is useless, most of the aftermarket ones look just like the stock ones, and bolts to make much of a differnce in most guns anyways...and believe me, you know the PBC rentals, I've taken alot of them apart, and seen most of the few aftermarket bolts, and there are no major differences, except one, but don't worry about bolts for it...

The most accurate barrel is a 14 or 16 inch, sized to the paint you will use. Most of the time you want a medium bore like a .688 or .689. Just pick any of the ones I listed or try some other people's at the field. Remember, you're not worried about what gun it's on, just the barrel (try to use good paint to really see how it performs). You can get the same barrels for a 98 that you can for a Ion or Spyder usually.

Unless you plan to play any serious speedball stick with your 98. It's a good gun that will hang with anything out there for Rec-ball and scenarios. There's a lot you can do to a 98 later on. Make the gun accurate and reliabpe first. Then you can add trigger kits and other stuff to make it a little more dangerous.

all you NEED on a tippmann is:
---Response Trigger
---Better Barrel (Ultralite 14", Progressive/All American 14", CP 14", etc.)
---Revy Hopper
---CO2 tank
optional:
---drop forward
you DO NOT need:
---Nitrogen, Low Pressure Kit
---Remote, Expansion Chamber
---new bolt, internals
---FLATLINE
