If there is interest in a young gunz tourney then there may be one. Have all your friends that want to post on this forum and if we can get enough teams then I will try to make it happen.

We have tried twice to have a young guns tourny and both times had lots of I'll Play but no sign ups. It seems when we say put up or shut up, everyone shuts up :(

Correct, it was a joke because if you are looking for a professional paintball experience you will be at Paintball Charleston.

As for the owners not liking speedball, that is not entirely correct. We like any paintball that involves sportsmanship, integrity, honesty and love of the game. Unfortunately, we seem to get more “problem children” in one day of speedball than we see all year with rec ball. This is probably just due to a few bad apples (as the saying goes), but we get very tired of the BS associated with the speedball crowd, not the format of the game itself.

One of the main reasons that we even have a speedball field is so the “bad apples” will stay away from the rec ball crowd, especially the rookies with rentals. Without a constant source of new players and a good number of rental markers hitting the field every day, we would be out of business. Speedball players generally do not support PBC in any way shape or form. The good side of this is that the speedball format lets some of the veteran refs/players go slug it out for a few games, without offending or just scaring away some of the newbies.

If you want us to continue opening the speedball field, you have to think about 2 things… Don’t be a “Pain in the A$$” and “why should the business even have a speedball field?” Take a few minutes to think about it, and you will understand why we don’t encourage the format.

If everyone played rec ball with good sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity, then life would be good. For the people who lack those attributes, there is always speedball.

So your basically calling all speedball players "bad apples" with poor sportsmanship & integrity?

Did he say that no, he said there are a few in the speedball crowd, Brain and Skeeter both used to play speedball themsleves, I did it with them. They don't have a thing against it, there are just a few people who enjoy that format, who cause trouble...

If you're going to quote someone and repeat what they are saying then at least get it correct. Your statement was about as factual as me saying "So you are basically saying that guys are girls." Skeeter's exact words were, "This is probably just due to a few bad apples (as the saying goes),..."

Well said Koz, as a Friend of Both of the Tims I hear a lot of problems that they have will the speedball fields. I can understand every one of them. And it goes in life that the few bad guys effect the many good guys. SO if I were worried about how the speed ball field was run I would make sure to show both of the Tims that I was the biggest "Class Act" on the the field so they would never have to worry.

I agree with Skeeter and Dugan on this. I go out there and play speedball all the time and i do see these "bad apples." I usually try to send these "bad apples" home by either one balling them in the goggles or bunkering them with my phantom. But seriously, the best way to combat these "bad apples" is for "speedball players [that are] as wise and insightfull as the omnicient 'Dugan'"(Skeeter) [wow i actually learned something in college] to set these "apples" to the side and inform them we will not stand for immaturity. I say a three strikes rule should be inforced, or maybe post a sheet of ethics...i dont know.

I love playing both rec- and speedball, because they are both different styles of play. As long as my body can let me play paintball, i'm happy. Once i lose my edge, i'll be beside Mr. Geoff behind the counter keeping your markers in tip top shape and heckling people that come into the store.

Smartparts, you should be thanking the Tims every time you play on the speedball field, for giving us the opportunity to witness and another style of paintball.

I can't wait to come back to Charleston. 4 more days!

Peace out,
Damien
