I have a newer phantom with the 45 grip, vert feed, a 14 inch barrel, and horrible drop-off. Is there anything, besides a new barrel, that i can buy to make my phantom shoot better and without such terrible drop-off?

Can you give us a little more information on it?? FWIW, Phantom's have some of the best 'stock' barrels out there. If your using the cheap paint it could be the paint your using. Is it Chrono'd right? tpc screw tight? 12 Gram or CA?

pumps arnt much for having drop off. must commonly described as a high rate of fire problem.

I wouldnt even cal lit that, I can get rolling pretty good on AT, and not have drop off, of course I use a 4 oz tank.
Maybe he's using a 12 gram and dropping of at shot 20 or so... :biggrin9gp:

Are you talking about drop off where each shot is less than the previous one, or are you talking about the trajectory of the paintball? I noticed a different trajectory with my phantom than my Sniper II. It didn't really make sense to me using physics, but according to my eye it had a more looping trajectory than the Sniper II. They both shot the same distance, it just required me to adjust my aim.
If it is not charging properly and each shot is shooting at a lower velocity than the previous, aka drop off, then you should have Skeeter or Brian check it out.

exact same thing w/ me. it seems lik emy sniper2 shot straighter more flat lines while it seemed my phantom would kinda lob the paintball. it would still so straight and just as far but i could definately tell a difference between the two. that is, until i bout my UL for my phantom. since i cant really see too big a difference.

Mine seems to shoot "up" sort of. Just like what casey said.
BTW phantoms shouldn't have drop off. They either shoot or they don't.

i bought the best stock barrel for it, so the guy told me, and it just lobs the ball. It cant make it accross the village and its just really annoying. I think im just gonna buy a new barrel for it. maybe that'll work. and im using a 4 oz. tank.

Actually you can get shoot down if the TPC (sp) is loose. The velocity will slowly go down if this is the case. Skeeter had this problem on one of his old phantoms.

I dont think the barrel is the problem, BUT if you want to buy a new one, you might think about one of the "Frantom" barrel kits from WWA, or Punisher. They are bored to accept freak inserts.
What are you chronod at? Did you strip the TPC screw? When you Chrono'd did you loosen the screw and then re-tighten it? Sometimes you can over tighten it, and it wont stay tight, this can be corected by using a SS screw from HD. It's like a 1$ fix.
If all else fails bring it by the store!
