Try these folks:
Liberty Fire Protection
7214 Peppermill Parkway, North Charleston, SC 29418
(843) 552-1301
I have never used them but they were recommended by my scuba shop for paintball tanks. When I called them they said it was something like $11 to hydro a paintball tank. Hard to remember...that was about a year ago. They did ask that I drop it off for a few days, so don't expect it to be done "on the spot".
Anyway, they seemed to be paintball friendly and they are fairly close to PBC as they are off of Ashley Phosphate. (Leave PBC and turn right on Cross County Rd...go to end and turn left on Ashley Phosphate. Take next left onto Peppermill Parkway...they are near the end of the street.)
For a map, go to: http://maps.google.com/maps?oi=map&q=7214+Peppermill+Parkway,+North+Charleston,+SC+29 418
Yea rich, anyone that comes in asking about hydro we send them there...check em out, and let me know...

I went to the scuba shop down here on 17 just outside of downtown today (before I got the info in this post) and they happily took my tank. Said it would be a week and around $20. I'll let you know when I get it back.
Ah ok...thanx...we knew there were always places that could, just never confirmed which ones could and would...

Bad news. Charleston Scuba kept my tank for 2 weeks (said it would only take a week) and I stopped in on Thursday hoping to take the tank with me on Friday. They had the tank at the shop and the guy working the counter told the lady (I assume the manager) "Oh yeah, they couldn't get the valve off".
The lady looked at me and said.. I'm sorry. I guess we should have called you...
Folks, if you use these folks for Oxygen to breath underwater, I suggest you find somebody else to fill your tanks..

The folks at Charleston Scuba are all about selling stuff and teaching people how to dive, which leads directly into selling more stuff... Fortunately, they don't really put an effort into running dives, which leads to a lot of divers (with recently purchased equipment) trying to find different activities to keep their weekends busy (leading them to paintball).
They are nice enough, but service is not their cup-o-tea.
