I’ve decided to go with the Tippmann A-5 as my first Marker and I have some questions.
Barrel
If I go with a Flatline Barrel can I change it for better play on ‘tight’ courses such as urban or MOUT type games?
Having the ability to switch the Marker from a M-16 type weapon to a MP-5 type weapon with a barrel change appeals to me.
Air source
Which size?
The pricing is very close on the Various tank sizes and I can see the re-fill cost benefit of a larger air tank but will a 20oz make the Marker too unwieldy if attached directly?
Protection
How common are hand or groin shots?
I’m no stranger to pain but would rather not spend 3 days with gonads the size of oranges if I can avoid it. I’ve also seen referees wearing gloves and can read the writing on the wall. Would the weather rule out the practical use of gloves and/or groin protection?
Smoke
What are the rules about smoke devices aka ‘bombs’?
I saw someone deploying some and wanted to make sure they were legal before acquiring some.
