I have been playing paintball for 4 years now and hoping to enter a young guns tourny nxt summer. I'm not promising anything but if you are willing to give it a try post here and please list your: marker, hopper , air system, goggles, years of experience , age , and any upgrades.

your going to have a hard time finding a young gun series without traveling..might want to look at the scpfoa beginner series for a local tournament series to get started in tourney play

young guns tournaments are hard to do because only kids can play it, and they are somewhat unreliable as far as definite transportation, money, time, etc. Therefore lots of people say they are interested, but not many people can actually pull a team together due to scheduling conflicts and stuff.

I realy don't care though, i'm already an old man...

i would consider it if A.)this weren't Charleston because tournament paintball is nearly limited to GLK and a few wanna be start up teams and B.) if there was actually speed ball in Charleston, psycho tries but fails.

besides, I already have a good team going, were doing the Charlotte PBC beginner three man events.

Thats because the arrangements were lax and the fields suck. its like driving down a bumpy road in a car without suspension when you run up their tape lines though none the less, I might have to resort there in a week. hopefully mulkey's field is set up well.

As he has said, you don't need a lot of practice, you don't even a coach, just a few guys who want to play. We had one practice and at least a years experience each before going into our first event together. We practiced together the week before the event(our first time playing together) and won the event. Just get some guys who want to play and practice the week before the event super hard as in take it back to the basics and work up before the event and you won't do too bad. Good luck with whatever you decide to do though.

pwn. truth about GLK not being the only ones around here. we're probably the only ones you see out at PBC on a regular basis because other people travel to play. you probably never see the Gridlock boys, Dark Carnival guys, and anyone else that plays tournaments around here because they aren't around to play woodsball...

Dynasty is rift raft and yes i shoot a PMR, I paid for it, not my parents. You want to flame, flame away, but first know what you're talking about. So what if I play 3 man? that means that I'm at least trying. i can't afford CFOA as of now, SCPFOA ended for the season due to lack of participation, but we have a big schedule next season. once you consider playing PSP and CFOA, then laugh at me for playing 3 man events. We are a new team so give us a bit of room to work and don't dog us because were new, give us till next season before you critique and don't do that until you've done what we've done. We started this season too late, the onyl evnt left really is homecoming and world cup and I doubt you're playing either.

When i was shot, my mask turned sideways and the guy was shooting from about fifteen to twenty feet away. When I asked him to chrono (asked, not yelled, screamed, or in any other way rude), he started bitching at me. I asked a ref and he ignored me, I asked him again, he finally said ok and I watched the player walk into the chrono and shoot ONCE not even over a chrono, and the ref said he was okay. When i asked why, they said that tournament paint hits harder because the paint has a thicker fill. Beat around the bush much? This seems like good enough reason to dislike PC I'd say. I've been shot, bunkered, destroyed, and literally plastered, but I've not once had a problem with the refs at other fields. Here, they all hate me because i call them out. When i shoot a regular, i expect him to get out, not be allowed to continue playing because the refs like him.

that's a situation that you go to Skeeter, Brain, brad or geoff or even a more senior ref about. If you expect it to get resolved, you have to bring it to the attention of the people in charge for it to be taken care of.

Managers arent always entirely necessary but if refs blatently disregard your questions comments or concerns then just go to the head ref or (if it is the head ref) go into the store or to the box and tell whoevers working what happened it is always solveable.

A ref with a pump shot me in the rise on my profiler, my back was to him, and i didn't know. i heard the shot and moved forward out of the way and had a ref literally, climb all over the place to check the hit and couldn't find one. After this, i stepped outside and put about three shots into his mask...

After the game i was told to sit for "overshooting" a ref(four breaks is the limit, i only shot two or three times.). I hopped back into the game and that was when i caught the same ref wiping and bonus balled him off the field. I just left after that because it was about 3:00 and I was low on paint.

well that kind of stuff is inexcusable on the ref's part. they are supposed to be model players for PBC and they need to be called out if they're caught doing that stuff just as anyone else. I'll call anyone out if i catch them cheating; it doesn't matter who it is. That's where the player ref's have a responsibility as a staff member and a player has the responsibility to keep the game clean and fair for everyone involved.

Point is don't let things like that slide by and affect the way you think about PBC. Don't let a few bad actions give you a bad impression. If you see something like that, it's just as much your responsibility to let the management know as it is the ref's. They're still human.

you didnt catch any1 wiping. and even so you dont take it into your hand to punish them. maybe thats why you got sit for over shooting? i mean you did just openly admit to bonus balling some1.

and once you play some tournament ball you will realize thats refs are goin to crowd you and search all over if they think your hit...get used to it.

as for the other nonsense about u getting ur mask shot side ways..no word other than "nonsense" could best describe that. your being THAT dramatic in the 1 post has led me and others to believe youve most likely over emphasized and dramatized all the other instances you mention.

like in ur case..to say you caught the same ref wiping twice is ridiculous. of course if ur on the opposite team getting spanked by a particular ref your gonna think hes doin something not fair to better you. hes not cheating hes just a better player than you. gotta learn to deal w/ it. but i tell you what. since you dont like the way things are handled ref wise out at the field. you should come out and voluenteer ref. try to make things better. see how many people you thought were cheaters when you were playing agaisnt them and youll see how many people you wrongfully accused. as a ref you arnt goin to have a biased opinion towards yourself or ur team. ur gonna see how the game is really played thru the eyes of some1 whos reffing..not some little hot head kid who thinks he saw some1 cheat and is goin to bonus ball all the referees because he thinks he right. and you will probably learn a few things from all those "refs" you caught wiping. so heres the deal.. i will make you a bet. if you legitamely catch some1 cheating and a ref doesnt pull them(who has played the sport before and knows what cheating is) any joe shmoe...ill give you $100 bucks. if you catch any1 of the regulars and a ref doesnt pull them ill buy you an electronic gun off the wall at PBC.

fyi no regular is going to cheat, it's recball who gives a **** that you got shot in RECball, it's not like your playing for some kind of prize.

And yes some Gridlock guys started out playing at pbc and still play there if they don't have practice

All the refs are fair, I've never seena ref give someone else the advantage it just doesn't happen.

I'm not GLK... Neither are Joey, Eric, Adam, Alex Draftz, James, Curtis, and many others.

One of the few last minute thrown together "wanna be start up teams" if you can call it that, Renegade Brigade, didn't have one practice and won 1st place in beginner SCPFOA. And if you think beginner is easy, you really are a scrub, as Casey puts it.

If you want to bitch about not having a speedball field, do like the rest of us and drive to Columbia, Myrtle Beach, or Charlotte.

i can see a few temp-bans coming out of this, also once speedball is available again..people need to show up, and make it worth it to the company...i thikn pbc had like 5 or 6 people showing up when they had it open for the last few months, with the exception of the time i did the private party open to all speedballers, which had a pretty good turn out, and will do again once its up, i get interest from everyone involved before(i dont see a problem), and work it out with skeeter/brain.

some of the best/most competative ballers/teams come out of the charleston area..GLK and Renegade, are the only tournament teams in the area, but like people posted before, look where Dugan, Cade, Mason, and Granade all started out playing. Theres plenty of competative players in the area, learn something from them instead of whining about being beat by them....

and if your getting shot that much....hide better, and if they wipe...shoot them again, consider it practice cause people wipe in tourneys too

There are a lot of misunderstandings going on right now which is probably why this is getting blown out of proportion. blueMidget was posting earlier and everything was calm, now that all the retards are back, its getting heated up again.

RecBallKing: you didnt catch any1 wiping. and even so you dont take it into your hand to punish them. maybe thats why you got sit for over shooting? i mean you did just openly admit to bonus balling some1.

and once you play some tournament ball you will realize thats refs are goin to crowd you and search all over if they think your hit...get used to it.

i did catch someone wiping for starters. i know it was a ref because he had been working earlier that day and then took the rest of the day off to play.

yes, i went out to PCs speedball nights five or six times, it was, unfortunately, a small turn out, but the games were good.

...yes, that doesn't mean that I want to hook up with them. i like playing on air ball fields, not the Village. I can't learn much where I'm at. i can imrove on mechanics but mostly, tournament experience is what I need and I am currently lined up to get it.

i didn't say I was getting shot that much, i said that i got shot once and my mask rotated. I don't need practice not getting shot. why am I getting scolded by recballking for bonus balling but i'm being told to shoot them some more by this guy? I don't unnecessarily bonus ball them but ten or so paintballs to the neck, head and chest isn't easy to wipe, thats why I do it.
