DAMN! Those are super high for just a little bit of play... not even prizes to be given away... I haven't had to pay this much entry for a tourney even... oh well, price are prices.

ACTUALLY, there will most probably be prizes, this is a pretty normal price for a scenario if you dont like it we have no need for you to play

facts are pretty important, and calling the store would rectify that problem. You can register at any point during the game but it ends on Sunday at 1pm so they longer you wait the less you play.
The game has 21 hours of play time. That is far more than the amount of play time for ANY tournament even if you made finals. The entry fee was $50, air $10 and paint as low as $40. For a total of $100 you could play for 21 hours You can even buy less paint than that if you shoot pump, but with the tournament reference I doubt it.
Scenario games are a big thing. We have 2 of them a year and they bring in lots of people from out of town plus locals. It is and EVENT and there are LOTS of prizes given out all weekend long including guns, paint, harnesses, pods, etc
But in the end it is optional to play.

+1 for what Brain said. There will be more prizes and awards than most tourneys I have ever seen. $ for $, scenario's are the best bang for the buck in the entire industry.

What ever, not intending to bash but more so just exposing ignorance. My bad for not realizing what i was saying, just not really wanting to pay that much for what I thought wouldn't have prizes and was, in the end, just recball. that and i'd rather know some of the guys I'd be playing with. I'm usually in Charlotte or Columbia playing so this isn't something where'd I'd know a lot of people.
EDIT: Just reread that and it came off a bit harsh. the rec ball comment is what i'm referring to. that was meant more as an explanation than a snide comment.

The proper thing to do would have been to ask if there would be any prizes rather than assume there wouldn't be any. Also, scenario play is drastically different than recball. It is possible to not really participate in the scenario portion and just go out shooting other people, but then you are missing out on, what is to me the best part of scenario play. I have played many roles in scenarios from general on down and I can honestly say there is much more strategy, comradery, and endurance involved in scenario play than recball.
Also, if you have the chance play in a few scenarios, whether you know anyone or not. I have made some of my best friends through scenarios. It is always great to run into someone after months or years of not seeing them and having old stories to share with new friends over a campfire.

I've read plenty of things about scenarios and they sound like fun. i just don't feel like spending that sort of money. I may try a smaller big game out but I don't want to spend 50 bucks when chances are, I'll only play for a day. Besides, i still would have to buy paint. i'd just save my money and use it on a practice with my team, much easier and a lot cheaper.

Scenarios aren't for everyone, but I would definately recommend you try one at some point. Don't look at it as a day of playing paintball, but rather as an event.
Friday night is camping out with a bunch of good friends and soon to be good friends. Saturday is a day of learning to play along side those new friends. Saturday night is either playing at night, which is a completely different game than day play, or destroying some cow flesh with the above mentioned new friends and telling lies over a campfire with said friends. Sunday is typically a huge dash for points typically ending in a huge battle which often decides the game. After the game everyone is exhausted and drags themselves to the awards ceremony with tons of prizes given out and credit being given where credit is due.
In scenario ball the play on the field is often overshadowed by what happens off the field.

... I'll be there eventually, but I'll have to save up, 20 hours of playing = lots of paint.
Probably the stupidest thing i've ever seen was 2006 SCPFOA at Ballbusters Paintball. Really cloudy and in the end of Semi finals, the sun went down... the refs were going nuts chasing LEDs everywhere. It was funny as hell though. lol

use a pump instead of an up'd ion and you wont shoot as much.
edit: to think about it i shott 1/2 case w/ my mag this weekend. i probably could have shot less than a bag w/ 1 of my sniper2s.

Had a great time at my first PBC event. The field is amazing. To put my 2 cents in, if you have not tried a scenario, you are missing alot of fun. The extra expense is worth it when you look at the overall game, and as DeepFreeze said, the best times are not always on the field. Come camp out and meet all of us crazy a$$ people and if you are old enough down a few brews, you will learn alot about the game by just listening to all of the people there who have been playing since the dawn of time. The prizes are just icing on the cake if you are licky enough to win one, my son won a pack on Sat and since his old one is falling apart it was a fitting gift. I loved the fact that since the winner of the Tippman RX7 did not claim it, they gave it to a kid who did not have a goog marker, that is what the scenario is all about, helping out those who need it more than you. I hope to meet some of you on my next trip down.
