Ok, when my friend and I aired up his ion we noticed that the pressure wasn't rising on the gauge and it wouldn't fire at all. So, what would we have to do to fix it. We just took it apart and put a new body kit on and the tank had about 2500 psi in we couldn't find anything with it.

is his reg set correctly... i would zero it out, then slowly air it up (by adjusting the velocity UP) then i would say make sure the pin on the pinvalve part of the tank was working...
