What is the difference of Hi and LO pressure for nitro tanks...other than one is higher pressure. What significance is this? which is better for which type of gun?

uhoh...please i hope i dont have a pbn rehash with this....
but yea, hp tanks just have a higher available output say 200-400psi and lp have a lower available output say 50-199... if ur gun can run on lp its best to get it

To the best of my knowledge and correct me if I am wrong but LP tanks run presset to between 350-450 psi and hp tanks are set at 750-850 psi. It all depends on what type of blaster you are dealing with.

wat dugan said. if u have questions on what gun is what just ask
Just get a high pressure tank and use it on anything you like. You'll be better off cause then the gun doesn't matter.
^ What he said, and Dugan is right about the pressures...

Dugan is correct. Though no marker requires a low or high pressure tank as long as the pressure is regulated properly. Depending on how sensitive your internal parts are or how unreliable your regulator is, it may be wise to have a lower pressure tank on your blasters, gats and blowguns.
If your hp tank is putting out 200-400psi or your lp is putting out 50-199 you might want to consider purchasing a new tank.:) That or tell us the secret of how your low pressure gun works off 50 psi!

sry- let me get this straight for those who don't understand: when i say something like "say ###" then im not trying to give an accurate amount and also i was just trying to give him an example of the difference, i wasn't trying to tell the pressures i had no idea what they were until dugan posted
Nah, Geoff, it's really not gonna matter. If you have a reg that goes bad on an LP gun like a DM3 for example, the gun is overpressurized and possibly screwed. Now you can overpressurize just the same with a LP tank as an HP tank because both are outputting more than the 250psi or so that the gun can stand. So there is really no point for an LP tank to exist other than marketing. An HP tank is just as safe as an LP tank on most guns and higher pressure guns like the older angels or a mag won't run well on an LP tank that is preset at 450 psi.

find what pressure ur gun runs on and get that tank- if its a mech it is usually run on high, usually not always*, and higher end electrics are usually low pressure, except for dms

dont forget you still have an lpr, and lpr are designed too shut off when 300 psi is drawn to it. dont forget the solenoid has a bleed off valve.
EDIT: not all lprs are designed to be that way, but most good ones are. bushmaster stock lprs do that, and stock dms. not sure of any else. all guns are all compatible with high pressure as long as they run with an hpr, but not all guns are compatible with an lp tank. i would suggest getting an hp tank so you wont see any shootdown effect on high rates and when you switch guns you dont have to worry about getting another tank.
Shootdown is normally more an issue of restricted flow than low or high pressure. I can't say for sure if the tank's output "pressure" would cause or prevent any amount of shootdown. It would be an easy (and fun) question to test with a chrono and about a case of paint!
I'm not sure about the LPR bleed to protect the valve/solenoid. The theory is good but I just don't trust that to keep the gun safe cause I've seen a lot of them lock-up when overpressurized. And depending on the design, this can be kinda fatal to the solenoid. Not usually, but more often than you like to hear about.
