OK, i just got a phantom and i was wondering would it be easier to pump if i took out the return spring, And would it work if i rotated the pump to the bottom and had the barrel and the cocker totally separate...

no.
the phantom was designed the way it was ~20 years ago and hasnt changed for the most part because it works the best the way it is.
taking the spring out will only make it that much more of a pain in the ass to pump it. your pump handle wont return all the way everytime causing your gun not to shoot.
turning the handle upside down will make you look stupid. on the flip side, well all get a good laugh at you so by all means go for it.

Yes, and turning your pump handle upside down causes your barrel to get scratched up and eventually taking the paint off of it. It will also bend your spring and if you ever wanna turn it over again it won't work.

Um the barrel of a phantom gets scratched with it over the barrel. the paint on mine is almost gone where the pump handle is. what happens is dirt gets trapped between the barrel and the inside of the pump handle and just grinds into the barrel. It sucks but theres not much you can do unless you buy an undercocking kit, or just don't use your phantom.
