I'm Thinking psp or one of it's main sponsors are going to buy out the NPPL brand and use a different game format.

It has been said that Shawn Walker and E-Money (the guy with the internet radio show) plan on buying the remnants. E-Money had some off-the-wall ideas about how paintball should be played and designed a style called "Moneyball". This fell flat on it's face. Also, it's hard not to mention the name Shawn Walker in any of the inner-circles of paintball and not hear the word "thief" used in his description. They say Smart Parts is rallying pretty hard to buy up the rights to NPPL, and they've been a heavy supporter (financially, among other things) of the NXL, so....who knows where that may lead. I do not see the point in PSP spending a dime on the NPPL name, when for the same experience in paintball all you would need to invest in is the field. The only patented style of play is XBall (and possibly Moneyball, lol). Heck, NPPL tried to dip into the PSP's pockets by introducing 5-man to their series, with no reprecussion. Anyway, it has been said that introducing 7-man play into a PSP evnt is not viable, being how different the sizes are of the fields between them. That came from someone within the PSP, but that in and of itself doesn't mean it can't/won't happen. After all, PSP tried the idea of turf instead of grass at events, after the rave reviews from the players of the NPPL. That also fell flat on it's face, but shows that they dabble in other leagues ideas. I, for one, like the idea of a singular professional league. I prefer the PSP's grass, style of play, and it's Ref's.

I agree with you Bermy...the only thing i wouldnt be surprised to see is...more psp events, maybe 6 or 7 instead of 5 and those probably being on the west coast since there will be no commander cup or HB....just my thought. I saw a guy on the nation post an idea that i thought wasnt bad...He said that maybe have a "east coast" and "west coast" professional circuit.. and the top teams in each have an event at the end of the season....CFOA is the east coast circuit now...kinda...but i dont know how long it will last with the steady decline in teams every event and every year...getting pretty bad... just my opinion
Nobody can afford to add any events. At least not in the structure we have now. Players/teams won't be able to handle the extra expense, which will just thin out the numbers at each event. Same for vendors who have to travel, setup, etc. for additional events. There's a few exceptions of course but for the most part it would break the bank all around. Not that the leagues care...
I could see the PSP possibly trying to setup some kind of feeder series at smaller (more local) venues for the lower divisions. Like, run a smaller event simultaneously in 8 cities around the country between the regular March and June events. The prize would most likely consist of free entry into the "big" events and maybe some other junk. Then we would get the best teams from these smaller events to compete in the regular PSP along with the NXL.
I'm not sure how or if it would all work out but in theory it's a way for the league to increase revenue (more teams competing around the country), decrease the expenses of vendors and teams at events (shorter events), get their name out at a local level, and create a somewhat more professional main event (invitation only + NXL).
Like I said, I don't know all the details but it's sort of an interesting concept.

Not quite sure if this is true, but if "E-Money" = "Evan Money"... It will fail. The guy is a grease-spot on the industry & anyone with an ounce of common sense should stay away... Far far away.

Yes, his name is Evan Money. I believe he tried to get into the Promotion aspect (for professional players) a while ago. I also believes he sells turf, compressors, and feilds. In that venture, he is simply a middle-man between the companiers and the customer. He also strikes me as the kind of guy that tries to get his hand in anything and everything, regardless of quality.
