Ritz Camera's extended warranty is awesome. So, it would better for you to get it from them. They have the D40 at $450 w/ 18-55 mm lens also.

The salesmen straight up told me. If i took my camera and played foot ball with my camera, or decided to dunk it in the toilet. That I would just need to bring the camera and all/most of the pieces back. Then they would just pull out a new one and give it to me. The only thing they don't warrant is theft and fire damage.

I was going to get my mom to buy it off ebay, until he told me that.
