another freebie from the family. got this from my grandpa.

A table-top lathe.

its pretty old. from the 80s. but it does get the job done.

just puttin that out there incase anyone wants something turned. so fair i can do simple operations facing and such. wont beable to do any boring until i get a new boring bar and possibly a set of reamers.

i CANT turn threads yet so dont ask. it came w/ no powerfeed or thread attachments. i have to find these online or something. i can still cut most threads manually w/ taps and dies.

but now between harry and me, we basically have a machine shop. ie mill, drill, and lathe.

run any ideas by me or harry as far as custom work goes. we love to tinker w/ stuff.

Would you be interested in doing a half-block and midget on my sniper, if you can do that kind of work?

Burnt Grits, PM harry "BigDaddy" for that type work. you need a mill not a lathe. A lathe spins and cuts something, while a mill actually moves and cuts, set up like a drill press (kindof, in an abstract kind of way) lol

it says he and his friend have a mill also...

goofy. get your own thread bro. delete all your posts. i dont need you tellin people where to go to get help when they ask me, i definatley dont need you explaining a lathe in the most backwards of metaphors. and lastly. i forsure dont need you to post a vid in my thread about how a lathe works.

go destroy someones gun w/ an angle grinder or something.

umm possibilities. barrels, bolts, hammers, valves and other round things.

today i board out my ccm guide rod for added volume and shaved an entire ounce off it it. things like this.

like i said mine is very basic. but others can be used to turn threads inside or outside different works. and so forth.

whats the advantage of having the rod cut inside so theres more volume? Ive heard Geoff talking about it before

More volume = lower pressure.
