ok so i bought this a-5 from my friend and it came with a but stock already attached and he didnt have the back for it when i took off the back to oil it i took the oring off and when i put the stock back on i didnt see the oring get caught and i basically cut it in half( i know rookie move but) i need to know if i need that oring or can i just leave it alone.

If you dont have that O-ring, your air will possibly pour out the back of the gun. Im sure you can get them in the store for .25 - .50 cents

The O-ring in question (just hangs loose around the guide rod & the main spring?) is not for holding any air/CO2. If it is the one you described, then it is a bumper that sits between the hammer and the stock (back plate, if you don't have a stock in place).
It will work without, but it would be easy to damage the hammer or body of the A-5 if you run it without the bumper. We have the O-rings in stock for $0.50 or 1.00 (IIRC?) in the store.
