I have a sniper II with a gen-x reg. I have turned the reg all the way up and turned the autococker velocity adjustment all the way up. The velocity didn't change with the cocking rod area adjustment, and would only hit up to 250 when I turned the reg all the way up. What do I need to fix this??? A new spring???? And if so, does the store have any???

very nice. thanks- this should help me know if it is the spring or not, I'll find out on saturday when I have air and a chronograph. The article says to turn my reg to zero and the internal verlocity adjuster almost all the way out, sweetspot the reg, then "adjust the adjuster".

I have found that you can spot your reg with the IVG set to about half way in. The main thing is to only adjust one setting at a time. Don't worry about getting the "right" velocity at first, just the highest, consistent range you can get. THEN you can tweak the IVG to the right numbers. You should almost never touch the reg after this is set. Everybody likes to adjust the reg because it's the easy way out. The same people can usually be found asking for help fixing their gun some time later.
