Yes, but you will need a adapter to do so. I just fill a SCUBA tank and then fill my tanks from that.
You do mean a first stage or higher air compressor? You won't be able to fill from a small compressor used for inflating tires and such. Not enough pressure.

What me and my dad used to do was we would have some scuba tanks filled and used an adapter for that and they would stay filled for a while.

Alright chief, regardless of who made the video it's very informative and tells crazybrannon exactly what to do. When he says "mike from techpb" just plug your ears and you'll never know. I'm definitely not a fan of him or anything, but the Punkworks section of the website is definitely interesting, people like Tom Kaye and Jack Wood have been involved there.
Sorry for the hijack, brannon watch the video, it tells you exactly what to do to fill your own HPA tanks by yourself.

Here's how we did it ...
We get the bulk n2 tanks from National Welders (similar to propane exchange.). Around 2700 psi I think . So you can pull a few quick 2.5k + fills of the n2 tank without using the booster. When the n2 tank pressure drops ,a standard shop compressor is used to drive the piston in the booster pump .This will fill your tank up to 4500 psi. The problem with Scuba tanks is the relatively small capacity and low psi. We might get one day out of one . With the large bulk tanks and booster, we could pull enough fills to play every weekend for a month.
The n2 tanks go for around 50 a month, the booster was about 300 on ebay . We had enough players kick in to make it cost effective .
The attached photo shows the booster with the necessary fittings ,gauges and how the system operates as a whole .
Best of luck !
