Me and goofy went today and made it past prelims as 3rd seed in finals and then lost our 1st of 3 games by a landslide and then won our 2nd game after massacring the other team and or last game came out to a one on one with a player we had to get last minute, because something came up with KC, his name was MATT and he called for a paint check and the reff was slow about it so he got shot before the referee could make the call. But all in all it was A LOT of fun unfortunately we couldn't bring an imaginary 1st place trophy to PBC

if you are going to talk about it, then not talk about it, go ahead and spill the beans. it must be something good to discuss.

not worth discussing. got accused of playing on, which was impossible because I had 2 refs bird-doggin' me from 2 feet and 20 feet away, neither one calling me out, and I felt no paint. They finally did hit me, at which point I walked to the dead box. No one accused me of anything all day, except that one team, and they did it all 3 times we played them, all of which were false accusations. They were just sore losers I guess, because we beat them 2 out of the 3 times we played them.
Oh yeah, and my grandma almost beat Ken (the event organizer) up, because he was the one accusing me of cheating

when will you learn, in tourney ball, everybody must be playing on cuz everybody on your team shot the other team. and vice versa.

Now, THAT is funny. Not the grandma part, but the accusation part, from HIM...

he was a pretty sore loser about it also. one of the semi finals game he tried to run snake and i shot him in his arm and a ref was chasing him while he continued to run up the field shooting at me... so i shot him s'more.

There are lots of reasons why I did not want to play, I would rather play for fun and skip all the hype that goes with playing in a tourney. I did enjoy watching and hanging with all those that did play, you guys were on fire when I arrived, sorry about the run getting cut short.
I hope that everyone can get past the sore feelings and remember that this is a game and all those that played are winners. It was great to talk to you guys again and I'm glad you got to trade the Karni to some fellow junkies.
I'll be there next weekend and look forward to seeing all my lowcountry friends again...and I will bring that 86* frame, if the 45 is as new like mine we can trade.

I have always "questioned" the judgment of field owners that would play in their own tournaments, at THEIR own field, reffed by THEIR own employees... This is beyond a simple "conflict of interest", but jeopardizes the integrity of the sport, which has MANY integrity issues to start with.
The sport would be better served if all “home” teams (especially, owners & employees of a home field) would ref tournaments, and not play/participate. This would minimize the instances of (or at least the accusations of) impropriety or bias on the part of home teams & reffing crews.
Of course, this is not always possible, but it would be a good step towards cleaning up a situation that most people would consider “dirty”, in the form of bad and/or biased reffing of tournaments.
