After seeing 1st hand for myself how well the spring bolt mod works in my shocker im thinking about investing some money in the machinery(mainly a small lathe) to offer the service to people who: A) dont want to buy a $50 intertia bolt or B) send their bolts off and pay someone outta state to do it for them as well as aquire a correct spring themselves..

my idea is to offer both the spring and milling for $20-25. depending on how much interest i get and how much i find a decent lathe for.

chime in and let me know if you would be interested.

if you have a Smart Parts Shocker and have no idea what im talkin about look in here:

now a spring fits in it(correct size spring, not correct tension. have correct ones on order)

does it make a difference if you are milling out a stock bolt or he bolt??

or, (better question), would this mod work better with the stock bolt or he bolt ?

works w/ stock or HE bolt.. its actually a stock bolt w/ the spring in the pic. but it would be more beneficial to do it to an HE bolt so you still get that efficiency

if all you are doing is borning the hole to make it bigger you could use a drillpress.

the proper way to do it is w/ a lathe. thanks tho.
